In Conversation with Robert Lipsyte

I am beyond pleased to share with you my conversation with Robert Lipsyte. Robert has been influencing my life since I was about 13 years old.  When I was young I read almost anything that a teacher or a friend suggested.  I read Lipsyte's The Contender when I was just a reader. Later, in college, I read it again when I was pointed towards books for teens while reading some edition of Elton Fader's Hooked on Books. While in graduate school I read it again. Then I have often included it in my YA courses over the years.

It was a gift and a treasure to be able to have a conversation with Robert. His insights to the field of YA Literature and his life as a sportswriter for the New York Times covering Mohammad Ali are engaging.

I hope you join us for this conversation.
