Ashley Hope Pérez
Ashley is the author of three award-winning novels for young adults. Her most recent, Out of Darkness, received a 2016 Printz honor for excellence in young adult literature and the 2016 Tomás Rivera Book Award. Ashley is an assistant professor of world literatures at The Ohio State University and lives in Columbus with her two sons.

Chris Crowe
Chris is a professor of English and English education at Brigham Young University (BYU) specializing in young adult literature. In addition to his academic work, Crowe is also a young adult literature author. Crowe taught English and coached football and track at McClintock High School in Tempe, Arizona, for ten years. He attended Brigham Young University on a football scholarship from 1972 to 1976 and graduated with a B.A. in English. He earned an M.Ed. and an Ed.D. in English education from Arizona State University in 1986.

Steve Sheinkin
Steve is an American author of suspenseful history books for young adults. A former textbook writer, Sheinkin began writing full-time nonfiction books for young readers in 2008. His work has been widely acclaimed for its ability to transform historical information into thrilling, accessible accounts. Sheinkin’s works have earned him National Book Award finalist nominations, the Newbery Honor, the Sibert Medal, and the Carter G. Woodson Book Award.

We Have a Children's Literature Component!
UNLV has a long tradition of Studying and Promoting Children's Literature. In order to enhance the opportunities for more elementary students to attend and participate with the Summit. The Thursday events will be paralleled with some Children's Literature events. Come join the fun!
Matt De La Peña will be joining us!
Matt is a great author who has books that span the range from Children's Literature, Middle Grades, and Young Adult. He is the perfect author to help us connect with educators who are interested in Children's literature, but who haven't yet explored YA literature. Come join the fun.

Thanks to Source books. Both Gilly Segal and Kimberly Jones will be presenting and attending the UNLV 2020 Summit. I discussed this a little bit on my blog post on Jan. 1, 2020.
